INTRODUCTION

This Hotel is a small accommodation located in the Province of Huesca immersed in the Aragonese Pyrenees at only 5 km of the French border, which makes it a suitable place for the visitor who loves to relax in these amazing mountains of Alto Gállego.

This Hotel in the Aragonese Pyrenees, provides the necessary tranquility where the client can enjoy a holiday surrounded by nature, both in summer, with its endless routes through the Pyrenees mountains, as in winter, taking advantage of the facilities offered by the two nearby ski resorts to practice various snow sports.

 

REGION

This hotel is located in a typical town of the Huesca Province, within the Tena Valley, immersed in the Aragonese Pyrenees, few km from Formigal and from Panticosa, only 30 minutes from the Romanesque city of Jaca, and 1 hour from the neighboring city of Lourdes in France.

The traditional stone houses and slate roofs, among the modern constructions for tourism are a result of the rapid growth of this small town.

Remarkable is its parish church, with a baroque altarpiece, where the Virgen del Costechal receives veneration. Also famous is the old stone bridge over the Gállego river that spans the ravine on the road to Panticosa since the 19th century. The town is also the starting point for various excursions, many around the nearby Escarra Reservoir and its surrounding peaks.

 

REGION & ACTIVITIES

Many activities can be undertaken in this little town, mainly skiing. Therefore, the hotel has a small ski storage room for clients who want to use it; and, in the winter season, there is a free public bus to access the different ski resorts.

The hotel management has agreements with various entertainment and (sports) activities companies, offering different services such as renting ski -equipment and organizing excursions.

Customers only have to think about enjoying their vacations.

Other activities are hiking, cycling, horseback riding, climbing, expeditions and mountain trips, etc.

 

HOTEL DESCRIPTION

The Hotel is located in the center of this charming town and is housed in a typical building with all the characteristics of the area. It is built, in the mountain style, with stone, wood and covered with black slate. The thermal insulation is of the highest quality, likewise the walls, the coatings and the wooden or pvc windows.

The main building has a floor of approximately 300 square meters, and consists of 4 stories, where the layout is marked by the activity itself. On the ground floor, there is the Reception, the kitchen, the lounge-dining rooms, the relaxation rooms, the wardrobe, and the boiler room. The 26 rooms are located on the 3 upper floors.

In the entrance area to the hotel is the Reception which has all the different devices necessary for the correct operation of a reception room.

Next to the reception are 2 small relaxation rooms for clients.

The Hotel has 25 rooms and 1 room for the disabled, with a total capacity of 51/58 people.

Each room is distributed in different categories depending on the client’s needs.

The rooms are classified according to their location and distribution, such as: Individual, for 1 person; Double Standard, Double Attic and Junior Attic Suite, for a maximum of 2 people.

All rooms are exterior, with central heating, television, bathroom with hairdryer and free Wi-Fi.

The hotel has several dining rooms, with about 25/30 seats each, making a total of 90 seats. Menu or a la carte food is served in all dining rooms and on the beautiful terraces, highlighting among other things their grill-cider house section.

To cater this dining service, they have a kitchen equipped with a lot of modern machinery, able to produce service up to 100 diners.

 

RESTAURANT

The Hotel Restaurant is located on the ground floor, where breakfast and lunch services are offered for customers.

Breakfast is buffet style, where one can find a great variety to enjoy a very complete breakfast.

For meals the client can taste a wide variety of dishes, from a Menu prepared with typical products of the region, to different meats from the North and fresh fish brought from the Cantabrian to delight all customers.

They have several lounges, some of them for the exclusive use of adults, where the client can enjoy the delicacies that the house offers enjoying the tranquility specific moment deserves.

Their “cuisine” is designed to offer moments of satisfaction to all the guests; from their “Sarao Menu”, through their “Cider House Menu” or ending with their Menu of “Degustation” all prepared with the best products. From Space Salads, garden dishes, Spoon dishes, Grilled matured beef to Fresh Fish brought especially from the Cantabrian Sea …  And all this accompanied by a good wine or a glass of cider from their Txotx.

 

HOTEL AMENITIES

The hotel has 2 small relaxation rooms for clients use, one is equipped with comfortable armchairs and reading tables, it also features a small closet with books and a self-service snack and coffee corner. The other relaxation room, located in a beautiful, glazed terrace with amazing town views, is meant as a “game room’’ with various tables and chairs welcoming those who want to enjoy a wide choice of board games (cards, dominoes, chess …..)

In summer time there is an outdoor heated pool and they also provide an additional service of massages.

 

TURNOVER

This very successful hotel opens winter and summer reaching a very high occupancy rate with a yearly turnover of 500.000 euro with very little overhead costs. A staff of 2 regulars and three more seasonal workers.
