The Region

This region dazzles and surprises every visitor with its unique and ancestral landscapes, with its human and cultural heritage.

Characterized by its immense green valleys, mountains and picturesque villages, it is endowed with several species of native fauna and flora. The hiking trails, river beaches and mountain biking routes.

The complex is near a Portuguese village in the District of Braga, in the northern region and subregion of Ave. Situated on the bank of the River Tâmega, it is one of the oldest and most historic municipalities in Minho that has a vast landscape and architectural heritage.

The municipality still occupies a strategic place in the north of the country, as it is located within walking distance of some of the main tourist attractions in this region, such as the Alto Douro Wine Region , the oldest demarcated wine region the world, classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Cities like Braga, Guimarães, Chaves and Porto, -where you can visit the Port Wine Cellars- are only about an hour away. Such as the international airport of Porto, with low cost flights to numerous European airports.

The Complex

Respecting the typical architecture of the region, this house was recently restored and complemented with four fantastic new construction bungalows.

Rooms

The main building has four pleasant rooms with a double bed (possibility of extra bed or cot) and a private bathroom, the Plus Room is equipped with a spa bath.

With views of the village and the mountains, the rooms are a perfect symbiosis between tranquility and beauty, allowing moments of harmony with nature.

Cottages

 Framing the surroundings, they offer a charming view of the Cabreira mountain range and invite  to take a dip in the pool or relax in the solarium that surrounds it.

There are  four Cottages on two floors, with twin bedroom (two single beds), two bathrooms and equipped kitchenette , two of them with dishwasher. They all have two sofa beds in the living room (capacity for four more people), bed and bath linen, TV and WiFi .

These cottages are synonymous with independence and comfort and provide the visitor direct contact with nature.

With a panoramic view over the Serra da Cabreira, the outdoor pool is one of the guests’ favorite corners. The complex offers also jacuzzi service , next to the pool. Use is free for all  guests throughout the year.

Café Restaurant and complementary services

In addition to the accommodation service, there is  restaurant and cafeteria  seating 100 PAX that are also open to general public.

Their chef presents a varied cuisine with different gastronomic influences, paying special attention to Traditional Portuguese Cuisine .

Ideal destination for family vacations, weekend getaways and organization of small events, the complex is rated at all the major hospitality platforms reaching levels of Excellence.

Events 

The complex, in collaboration with its restaurant, frequently organizes various events and themed nights .

The first took place at the opening on July 20, 2013. Several theme nights have already followed: Nights of Fado, Night of Love, Baile das Senhoras, etc.

They also hold private – family /friends – events.

Sustainability

In addition to a prominent tourist development in the region, this complex also has a lower environmental impact:

  • Use of renewable energies using solar thermal panels and geothermal:
  • The electricity they consume is 100% renewable from the Coopérnico cooperative , with whom they share values caring for the environment, creation of social value, local development, transparency and integrity.
  • Restoration of the main house and construction of the bungalows with high energy efficiency based on good thermal insulation on the walls and windows, in order to reduce the consumption of air conditioning.
  • Reuse of surplus hot water that is sent to the pool.
  • Pool water treatment carried out through the salt electrolysis system : a new treatment concept that improves water quality (does not produce chloramins that irritate eyes and skin, are the cause of smells and chlorine flavor) and avoids the manipulation of Chemicals.
  • Use of residual and rainwater in the irrigation system.
  • Separation of waste at source for better recycling , and treatment of organic waste through the composting system .

Reduction of electrical consumption , using: presence detectors to turn on the lights; LED lamps for lighting; televisions and computers with LED screens; a single computer is used for 4 simultaneous users in the public use area and one with 2 users at the reception.

Currently this complex is only open in weekends , bank holidays and summer holidays, generating a turn over of approx 200.000 euro/year.

It is obvious that this amount can be tripled by opening the Complex all year round combined with an extensive international web -promoting- campaign or appearances on specialized B&B platforms.

As the owners do not reside in Portugal, they can not spend full dedication to this project so decided offer it for sale.
